KRISTEN SPILLER
Kristen Spiller boasts over a decade of experience in leadership instruction and drum major training. Her journey commenced within the vibrant band hall of Willowridge High School under the direction of Ronald Thornton. In 2012, during her senior year, Kristen assumed the role of drum major for the Willowridge High School Mighty Eagle Band.
Little did she anticipate that this pivotal moment would shape her future, propelling her into a career dedicated to cultivating leaders not only within Willowridge but also across schools spanning Texas and Louisiana. As Kristen's influence expanded, her commitment to leadership development remained unwavering.
Beginning in 2013, Kristen dedicated her efforts exclusively to drum majors, honing her expertise in crafting and executing tryout processes. Her specialization encompassed various facets, including physical conditioning, marching technique, conducting proficiency, score analysis, mindset, moral, and scenario coaching.
In 2021, Kristen spearheaded her first leadership camp, encompassing drum majors, band section leaders, color guard, and dance leaders. Through word-of-mouth referrals, the camp's success paved the way for Kristen to organize additional leadership camps for various schools. This serendipitously led Kristen and Ron to cross paths, prompting an immediate collaboration.
In the summer of 2023, Kristen became part of the PBSL-USA team, orchestrating the inaugural Fort Bend ISD Leadership Symposium and overseeing the Showstyle Drum Major Track. Kristen, along with a group of other exceptional educators, embodies the PBSL-USA mission by mentoring both seasoned and aspiring peer-based student leaders across all fine arts disciplines.
